I have a hunch that you're here for all the right reasons! I'm Melody Soptaka, currently leading product at Bangladesh's largest OTT platform. With 6+ years of shipping features that touch millions, I'm basically bilingual in tech and business lingo. Need to ride the rollercoaster of feature development from brainstorm to launch? I'm your guide!
I'm a product manager who came up through engineering — BSc in Computer Science from the University of Dhaka, then two years managing an engineering team at a Silicon Valley-backed startup before I found my real calling in product.
At Bongo, I've grown from PM to Lead PM across three promotions. Along the way, I've owned everything from subscription funnels and payment integrations to launching live EPL streaming — the kind of work where getting it wrong means millions of people have a bad Friday night.
Struggling to decode tech talk for non-tech folks? That's my jam! Tired of developers constantly nudging you for clarity? Don't worry, I've got your back. I've learned and unlearned, made mistakes, put out fires, and most importantly — re-found my passion for product management.
Roadmapping, A/B testing, prioritisation, brainstorming workshops
User stories, wireframing, user journeys, design briefs
Market analysis, usability testing, customer interviews, growth marketing
Data analysis, data-informed planning, KPIs, experimentation
Currently working with the biggest local OTT platform in Bangladesh, Bongo. Working closely with engineers and marketing and being able to make impactful features a reality has been an eye-opener for me. I have learned and unlearned, made mistakes, put out fires, and most importantly re-found my passion for product management. Contributing to the customer-facing apps has helped my decision-making skills flourish.
My time at Uptech Solution Ltd was short-lived but in no way short of learnings and experience. Documentation, stakeholder communication, and project management were my key responsibilities here. Working with multi-national clients enhanced my knowledge of global community and tech. I got hands-on with flow planning with developers — like mapping out a cash withdrawal model for a gaming portal.
My very first workplace! Then Backpack Technologies Inc. was a Silicon Valley-funded startup. Starting as an Engineering Manager was the right call for me — I got to explore the realm of project management and growth marketing. I don't remember Engineering Manager being a common role in Bangladesh back then. I took a leap of faith there and it was rewarding in the end. I had the opportunity to work with some of the brilliant minds in the industry!
Hey, this is Melody. Not to sound creepy or anything, I want to thank you for taking your time to go through my site and finally landing here.
I'm actively exploring senior product roles at companies building for APAC markets. Whether you're scaling a consumer product, launching in Southeast Asia, or just want to swap product war stories — I'd love to hear from you.
